An IELTS Vocabulary Plan That Sticks
IELTS vocabulary is not about quantity but about using high-frequency words well enough to read and write. Learn academic words, study collocations in examples, review on a forgetting curve, then produce them in writing and speaking.
Three steps
Input: ten words at a time with examples and collocations.
Review: revisit at 1/3/7/14/30 days.
Output: write one IELTS-related sentence per word.
Common mistakes
Memorizing Chinese meanings without collocations.
Chasing rare words while ignoring spelling and grammar.
Skipping review and forgetting everything.
FAQ
How many words a day?
Start with ten new words and twenty reviews; consistency matters more than volume.
Do I need spelling?
Yes for writing and listening; at least spell high-frequency words correctly.
