What to Learn First in Python
The biggest beginner mistake is skipping around. Learn variables and types, lists and dicts, if/for and functions first, then modules, exceptions, files and classes; verify each concept with a small example.
Order
Variables/types, lists/dicts/sets, if/for/while.
Functions, modules/packages, exceptions/files, classes.
Practice
Write three small examples per concept, predict the output, then run it.
Use cards for outputs and traps, not for copying code.
FAQ
Should I watch videos?
Yes, but you must write code; watching and writing are different skills.
How long to get started?
Thirty to sixty minutes a day covers basic syntax in two to four weeks.
